Opening SBI Savings Plus Account

Image
Let's Change our existing Normal savings bank account to Savings Plus Account. Thought of writing something different today. This past week I was thinking of changing my normal SBI savings bank account to  SBI savings plus account and today I implemented my plan. Before discussing the process involved in changing the normal savings bank account to Savings Plus account, let me provide my readers with a brief of the savings plus account. Most of the banks in India (both Government and Private) offers their customers with a facility where they can earn a higher rate of interest than the interest provided in a normal savings bank account while enjoying the liquidity of the normal savings bank account. The facility that is provided is known as SWEEP FACILITY. What happens in the savings account offering the sweep facility is that barring a minimum amount the excess amount becomes a fixed deposit, this in banking terms is known as MOD or Multi Option Deposit. This feature...

Twenty love poems and a song of despair: Pablo Neruda

Image
Pablo Neruda , a Nobel prize winning Chilean poet had penned down his feelings towards love and despair in an explicit way in his book titled  Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair . The poems were originally written by him in Spanish and it was later translated to English by poet  W. S. Merwin .  The book consists twenty poems (as the name suggests) and at the end comes a beautiful song that fills the heart with feelings that are difficult to express. Words of the poem lays a hand on the senses of a human being and ushers in love and sorrow at the very outset. Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair  begins with the lines describing the body of a woman in an exquisite way. Words of the lines are very exotic as he says 'Body of a woman, white hills, white thighs, / you look like a world, lying in surrender. / My rough peasant's body digs in you / and makes the son leap from the depth of the earth.' The poems go on exploring the journey of a person through the ...

Milk and Honey : Rupi Kaur

Image
While surfing through the catalog of books that were listed on Amazon I stumbled upon this book which was called ' Milk and Honey ' written by Rupi Kaur. At the very first appearance the cover of the book will not appear to be interesting except the title of the book. Then again there is a saying "Never judge a book by its cover" and this saying held its ground in this book. The narrative of the book is so beautiful that once you start going through the pages of the book you will start seeing the events through the author's eyes.  Canadian poet and writer  Rupi Kaur  provides a view to that section of the society where the mind revolts in silence and seek attention. The writings of the book provide a mixed feeling of passion, fiery and self-control. ' Milk and Honey ' provides its readers with a glimpse of the different phases that exist in a relationship. The author beautifully depicts the phases in poems and writings. The pictures drawn by t...
